“For a seed to achieve its greatest expression, it must come completely undone. The shell cracks, its insides come out and everything changes.” ~ Cynthia Occelli
Aligned with the upcoming vernal equinox, this 2.5 hour workshop focuses on an emergence from the darkness of winter into the lighter, longer days of spring.
Acknowledging this turning point as an equal balance of light and dark, we’ll engage in a practice that’s equally yin and yang – starting off with a hatha practice that’s designed to build and gather energy inwards and concluding with a series of yin postures that release this energy back out into the world around us.
Importantly, we’ll work with this metaphor of seed planting and growth, shedding stagnant winter energies as we identify and nurture our intentions for the months to come.
A guided journaling practice will also be introduced at points throughout the session, to allow for moments of mindful self-reflection – and to demonstrate how the changing shape of our practice allows for the emergence, even release, of differing thoughts, feelings, emotions and patterns.
All props, mats, pens and paper will be provided – and there is no writing experience required!
This workshop is geared towards those who have some experience of yoga (if you’re a complete beginner check the next Start Your Practice session, or the weekly beginners classes) but if you’re in doubt just ask. Regardless, please do get in touch in advance if you have any injuries or are pregnant.
*Please note – workshop places are non-refundable. See terms & conditions for details.*
