Following on from the ever-popular weekly yoga for runners classes comes this bi-monthly yoga run club – an opportunity to not only get your stretch on but to build a run into the mix too!

This session is for EVERYONE, regardless of running ability or yoga experience, and between myself and experienced Wales Athletics qualified run coach and parkrun Run Director Rich Skyrme, we’ll ensure each participant gets the attention and support they need.

Each yoga run club event will be broken up into three parts:

Yoga warm-up
Taking into consideration the demands of running on your body, you’ll be led through 30 minutes of flowing practice to warm up the body, develop the breath and prepare muscles and mind so they’re ready for our run.

Run session
Leaving the studio for the park, we’ll take a short ‘loosener’ run as a group (no-one gets left behind here!) and then segue into 15 minutes or so working on skills such as agility, balance or coordination. Rich will then tailor the remainder of the session to the needs of the group – perhaps an intervals session, some fartlek or a simple out and back run.

Yoga cool-down
Once we’ve returned to the studio (following a short cool-down run back from the park), we’ll settle into 30-40 minutes of deeper, yin-like stretchy yoga to soothe and release fascia and muscle, settle the breath and calm the mind. Of course the session will finish with 5-10 minutes in savasana – sending you home revived and refreshed :)

How do I book?

The next Yoga Run Club will take place on March 17th 2019 followed by May 19th 2019, both 14:00-16:30 at Tramshed Studio. All equipment is provided so there’s no need to bring anything but yourself and showers are also available should you need them.
